1. It was a certain Sabbath. A typhoon was approaching that day... Based on my past experiences, I was already in battle mode the day before... I packed a change of pants in my bag in case I got wet, and I was all set.
My heart was already set on going to church.
The next morning... fierce winds... but... the rain had almost stopped. Thankfully, I walked to the bus stop without an umbrella. However, when I arrived at the station... there was a long line for refunds. When I asked a fellow passenger, they told me, “The trains aren’t running.”
At that moment, I remembered a testimony I’d heard at church. It was about a snowy day. A church member with children arrived at the station to find a sign saying, “Service suspended.” Yet, believing that “God will make a way,” they went down to the platform. There, as they prayed… a train arrived.
Recalling this testimony, I passed through the ticket gate, prayed, and headed up to the platform.
Halfway up the stairs, an announcement came over the intercom: “Train service has resumed.”
Overjoyed, I sent an email to the person who had shared that testimony from the snowy day… even though the result hadn’t come in yet. The train was taking a long time to arrive… I apologized to Jesus in my heart.
As soon as I finished praying, the train arrived. The transfer went smoothly, and an announcement came over the intercom: “There won’t be another train for a while, so please board this one.” I was able to arrive at church in time for the hymn service. I immediately shared this story at the entrance. If I hadn’t heard that testimony from the snowy day, I wouldn’t have had this wonderful experience during the typhoon.
When you listen to testimonies, they can sometimes turn the storms of life into great blessings. I’m looking forward to the afternoon testimony meeting as well.
Good morning. I am grateful for this joyful Sabbath. I sincerely thank you for always praying for and supporting Tokyo Adventist Hospital. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, we received assistance and words of encouragement from so many people. I am truly grateful. At that time, the staff were literally risking their lives to serve the patients. I testify to this. I was working in the legal department to protect the safety of those staff members.
This is because God had taught me, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice”—meaning not human sacrifice. When the COVID-19 pandemic ended, a nurse who had risked her life to care for patients thanked me with tears, saying, “You protected us.” I praise God. And I believe those words of gratitude were also directed toward all the people who prayed for and helped the staff of Tokyo Health Adventist Hospital during that time. Thank you. We need people who risk their lives and stake their very existence to save others. However, protecting those who risk their lives to save others is also a very important work. I am deeply grateful.
2. Now, the Seventh-day Adventist Yaizu Christ Church is a truly wonderful church. It is not just me saying this. The general media—newspapers, television, radio, and so on—are saying the same thing. I will now play a video clip. There is an overwhelming amount of footage, so today I have limited it strictly to Saniku Gakuin. It moves quickly. The speed is proof of the sheer volume.
What did you think? Perhaps people outside the church appreciate us more than those within it.
3. Now, first, let me share a follow-up to the testimony I shared last time. In 2018, General Conference President Ted Wilson visited the Amanuma Church. During a prayer meeting in preparation for his visit, while praying with the senior pastor, I offered a prayer I had never even imagined myself saying: “God, please let me preach the gospel to a million people.” I felt so embarrassed—I had made a childish, overly ambitious prayer—that I slipped out of the church quietly. However... Since then, online evangelism has exploded across the globe, receiving reactions from tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of people. In the 12th installment of Pastor Pavel Goia’s “The Power of Prayer,” the number of people reached—which was 1.08 million during our previous visit to Yaizu Church—has now surpassed 1.3 million in just eight months. Due to the collapse of the Assad regime caused by the war in Ukraine, our broadcasts are now spreading explosively even to Syria—a country we previously couldn’t reach—and the only nations left where we haven’t been able to set up broadcasts are Iran and North Korea. Of course, others are also spreading the Gospel in various ways. Jesus is coming soon. Even though I thought it was impossible for me, that embarrassingly huge dream and prayer is no longer just a big dream; it has become a “reality” ten or even dozens of times greater than I imagined.
4. Last October, when I was hosted by this Yaizu Church, the view count for my testimony exceeded 720,000. The testimony at the SDA Kitanaka Saniku Church at Okinawa Saniku Elementary School has also exceeded 430,000 views. Just these two videos alone have surpassed 1 million views. This means that the SDA Yaizu Church in October distributed at least 720,000 tracts in just eight months. God has answered our prayer here as well: “Please let us share the Gospel with one million people.”
Everyone, I heard that the other day, some college students participated in tract distribution at Tokyo Central Church. Apparently, the tracts they handed out were thrown away one after another, and they came back feeling disappointed… Do you all think, “Yeah, that’s how it goes…”?
2026: Do you know something amazing happened? “Jesus for Asia: GLOW (Giving Light to Our World)” came to Japan from overseas. United
Player also collaborated on the 10-day prayer campaign, offering prayers and conducting online evangelism. Everyone, I understand evangelizing at Christmas, but what about evangelizing after Christmas, during the year-end and New Year’s holidays? GLOW came during that time. Considering the number of people reached, how many do you think reacted—that is, clicked on the screen or hit “Like”? Believe it or not, 9 out of 10 people—90%. If we handed out 100 tracts, 90 people actually took them and reacted positively. Even in the Philippines and Indonesia, where the response is usually very good, the rate is only 20%. Is this really Japan? I was shocked. A revival?? What on earth is happening?
Now, I did not pray, “Please lead a million people to repentance.” That is because repentance involves a person’s free will. And God does not force anyone. However, the answer to the prayer, “Please let me share the Gospel with a million people,” depends entirely on my free will. Therefore, God is free to work as He pleases—yet with mercy—within the limits of what is bearable. And He is fulfilling it exactly as I asked. Why not try praying for things that depend on our free will? Two thousand years ago, even though God’s Son, Jesus, was right there with them, people remained unbelieving. Since God respects our free will, all we need to do is agree.
5. Here are the words of Christ’s practical lesson, introduced in Sabbath School, which are more valuable than jewels:
“But man cannot make himself empty. He can only consent to Christ working within him.”
There is absolutely no need to worry that you cannot offer yourself, cannot surrender, cannot keep your heart pure, or that you lack love. That is because you cannot do these things to begin with. You simply need to consent to Christ working within you.
As a result, God performs miracles in our hearts and accomplishes wonderful things.
Selected Messages
6. “Revival can only be expected as an answer to prayer. Without the Holy Spirit of God, even when we hear the Word, we cannot receive it deeply into our hearts. However, when the power of the Spirit touches our hearts, the preached sermon cannot fail to have an impact.”
It is a mistake to think, “If only that person weren’t here,” “If only the church were smaller,” “If only the church were larger,” or “If only…” when the church stands up. I can say this with certainty because I am part of what is likely the largest congregation in Japan. It is a decisive mistake to say that revival will happen simply because a church is large or has a large number of people. I might get scolded for saying this, but revival comes only as an answer to prayer.
7. Are there any of you who think, “I’m an unbeliever, my faith is weak, so it’s impossible for me!”?
One time, a manufacturer offered to donate IV needles to Saniku College for practical training, so I asked a teacher there. On Monday afternoon, I received an email from the teacher saying they would be happy to have about 55 needles—enough for all the students—but if that wasn’t possible, even 5 or 6 would be fine.
When I looked at the needles we received, there weren’t even 50 in one box. However, when I went to work that morning… I discovered another set of needles packed in a plastic bag in a different spot. Putting the two together… 26 and 29… that made 55. I was deeply moved and delivered them to Saniku Gakuin.
God loved each and every one of the students at Saniku Gakuin with those 55 needles. God even counts the number of hairs on your heads.
From Tribulation to Glory: Chapter 4—The Holy Spirit Descends
“They were struck with solemn awe, and he said, ‘Whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask, and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.” And bowing their heads, they prayed (John 16:23, 24).” From Tribulation to Glory
Here is a question for you. When you pray, do you repeat Jesus’ assurance, just as the apostles did?
When General Conference President Ted Wilson visited, the first words he spoke to the entire audience and all YouTube viewers were an apology, as the head of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, to those who had been hurt or stumbled by the church. I, too, offer my deepest apologies.
Furthermore, he made this appeal:
“Everyone, please pray, ‘Lead me to the true church.’”
I thought those were powerful words, so I prayed them myself at Amanuma Church: “Lead me to the true church.”
Then, one time, there was a meeting at Mountain View Church in the U.S. at 1:00 a.m. Japan time, followed by another at 3:00 a.m. and then at 6:30 a.m. Without expecting much, I prayed, “If it is Your will, please wake me,” and went to sleep without an alarm. I don’t usually wake up at night, but when I did, I thought, “No way,” and looked at the clock—it was just before 1:00 a.m. I went back to sleep, woke up again just before 3:00 a.m., and was finally awakened just before 6:30 a.m. And following that flow—gathering daily to pray like the apostles, sharing the gospel message of righteousness by faith—that is, the faith of Jesus—with the world, and hastening the return of Jesus by inviting all people to deep humility, true repentance, and the most earnest prayer, thereby preparing the people to receive the “latter rain.” United Player. I was led to the House of Prayer. It shouldn’t be just United Player. Please pray, “Please lead me to a true church.” Why don’t you pray? Why do you place your hopes in yourself, the congregation, the elders, the officers, the pastor, or the denomination? Revival does not happen through debates, meetings, grand events, or large congregations; revival can only be expected as an answer to prayer.
At that moment, I made a resolution:
To pray, repeating this assurance just as the apostles did.
At first, repeating Jesus’ promise just as the apostles did felt very “awkward” to me. It seemed somehow arrogant, presumptuous, and out of place.
However, as I continued to repeat it, lo and behold! I was astonished to realize that I had received a conviction—one I had never had before—that my prayers were being heard by Jesus 100%.
And then, one of the biblical promises that Jesus has never once failed to keep:
“Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.”
Through this, as we prayed with one heart, the online evangelism campaign—which had garnered 1.3 million “likes”—spread with astonishing speed and reach to places like Pakistan, where Christians face persecution; the Sahel region, where evangelism was said to be difficult; Haiti, a country plagued by crime; Ukraine, a nation at war; Gaza and Palestine; Muslim-majority countries; and Syria, which was once a dictatorship.
I experienced very strongly the importance of putting into practice the testimony—the testimony of Jesus, the testimony of the apostles.
If you think revival will happen “someday” after the world around you changes, it will never happen.
Even when everyone returns to the ticket gates saying, “The train isn’t coming,” God is still able to move the train.
This is a Selected Message: “Are we keeping watch over what is taking place in the heavenly sanctuary? Or are we waiting for some coercive force to befall the church before we wake up? Do we hope that the entire church will experience revival? Such a time will never come.”
8. Every morning, I pray on United Player for the Holy Spirit, revival, and the latter rain. However, I am not waiting for the entire church to experience revival. This is because I am already seeing more than 3,000 people reacting with “likes” and other responses every day. Right now, I am moving away from that area and evangelizing in other regions. My goal is not to increase the number of reactions, but to preach the Gospel to the whole world. At that time, the Lord Jesus will come.
Right now, missionary activity is happening on a scale never seen before—100 or even 1,000 times greater than ever before. However, if you are not personally involved, even if you are moved, that feeling will likely be very small. People are not moved by things happening around them if they feel it has nothing to do with them.
The older brother of the prodigal son did not come to God’s banquet. This was because the older brother did not love either his father or his younger brother, nor did he go looking for them.
This is a practical lesson from Christ.
“There are no words that ring more sadly in a person’s ears than the fateful declaration, ‘I do not know you.’ The spiritual fellowship you have neglected is the very thing that would have allowed you to join the joyful crowd at the wedding feast. You cannot join them there. That light is invisible to blind eyes, and that music is inaudible to deaf ears. To a heart numbed by the world, neither its love nor its joy seems delightful. A person is excluded from heaven by making himself unworthy of communion with it.” Christ’s Real-Life Lessons, Chapter 29: Preparing to Meet the Bridegroom
Revival begins with you. It can only be expected as a response to spiritual communion and prayer.
When will that be?
9. “The Word of God, the Word of righteousness, the Word of life, is being given ‘now’ and ‘here.’ Do you desire to be transformed into righteousness right now? Will you live by that Word right now? This is justification by faith. … It is the simplest thing in the world.” A.T. Jones
When the Word of God is given, if you think, “I’ll pray when I get home,” or “I’ll start tomorrow morning,” then, just as Jesus said, the birds will come and eat it up. By the afternoon, you’ll think, “Huh? There’s nothing left”—and that is exactly what the Bible says.
10. “The Holy Spirit, who instructs people, dwells within God’s Word. A new and precious light shines forth from every page of the Word. Truth is revealed within the Word. No matter which word or passage you take, it becomes as brilliant and timely as the voice of God calling out to the soul.” *The Practical Lessons of Christ: The Power That Gives Life*
The words of the Bible are speaking to us right here and now
Many people are praying for the Holy Spirit, but the Holy Spirit who instructs people dwells within God’s Word. It is not merely printed text, but becomes as brilliant and timely as the voice of God calling out to the soul. It is not mere knowledge, but a revival of faith in God’s voice and the words of the Bible—what we call a “revival” in English...
11. A message from 1888
“When God created the world by speaking, He said, ‘Let there be light.’ Now, how much time elapsed between the words ‘Let there be light’ and the actual appearance of light? —Was it not even a week? —Yes. Was it not even a day? —Yes. Was it not even an hour? —Yes. Was it not even a minute? —Yes. Not even a second? —Yes, absolutely not. There was not even a single second between the moment God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and the existence of light.”
Even if a sign at the station says “Service Suspended,” even if the station announcement says no trains are coming, even if I think so, and even if everyone except you gives up and goes home, God is able to make the train run.
I used to think that to be ready to welcome Jesus, I had to attend church for decades. So I was always anxious. But when I saw it happen “now,” “right here,” I was astonished. No, no—for those of you who feel you still have a long way to go, please consider this: If you were to die today on your way home from church—from a heart attack or a car accident—would you be lost forever?
12. “Jesus said to a certain man, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ How long did it take for that to happen? There was no lapse of time whatsoever between the words ‘forgiven’ and the event itself. Those very same words, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ are speaking to all of you today. Why do you allow any time to pass between these words spoken to you and their fulfillment?”
Elder Coris asked this
“Didn’t He say, ‘Your sins will be forgiven’?” No, that is not correct. “Your sins are forgiven”—it is the present tense, emphasized— “Your sins are forgiven.” I thank God that this is so. For the creative energy within that word “forgiven” takes away all sin and creates a person as a new creation. I believe in creation.”
13. Even if television, radio, and the news report that the trains have stopped, God is able to move the trains. A typhoon struck directly during a lecture at Amanuma Church. Here is the weather map from the TV and news reports. That morning, in *The Hope of the Ages*, I read the passage where Jesus commanded, “Be still, be quiet,” and calmed the storm. Thinking, “Something might happen,” I made a copy of the weather map from that time. This is the actual map. It was a massive storm that day. However, just before the lecture began, the skies cleared. This is the weather map. The typhoon didn’t just veer off course. It completely dissipated. This was even posted on the SDA Church’s Facebook page. The impossibilities of nature cannot hinder the work of the Almighty God.
Here’s a question: Have you been forgiven by God? If so, you should be able to look forward to the second coming of Jesus with joy. The reason I’m asking this is that, for a long time, I honestly believed deep down that this was simply impossible.
“There are those who, failing to make wise use of the present opportunity, wait in vain for a special season of spiritual renewal that will greatly increase their ability to enlighten others. They neglect their present duties and privileges, allowing their light to grow dim, while at the same time hoping to receive a special blessing—without making any effort on their part—that will transform them and make them fit for service.” —The Acts of the Apostles, p. 54
There are those who have waited 38 years for the waters to move. There are also those who, for decades, refrained from evangelizing, saying, “I’ll wait until the Holy Spirit comes down,” and as those around them stopped evangelizing, they eventually grew old, their bodies weakened, and they could no longer even attend church.
14. “The word of God spoken through Jesus Christ brings into existence things that did not exist in the world before it was spoken. There is nothing righteous within man. … But God has set Christ up to declare righteousness over man. Because Christ spoke the word, righteousness appears within him who accepts it—even though there was nothing there before. …The Word of God, accepted by faith, creates righteousness within a person who previously had nothing, and in their life” (ATJ RH 1899 1/17).
I used to hate evangelism. I couldn’t do what that college student did earlier; I was the kind of person who would timidly hand out four or five tracts and then rush straight home. Whenever I heard the word “evangelism,” an allergic reaction—a rejection—would race through my whole body. Now, at Tokyo Adventist Hospital, I share my testimony with patients, pray with them as we both shed tears, and receive their gratitude through tears. I also share my testimony with hundreds of visiting manufacturers, handing out tracts, testimony books, and Gospel literature. They are deeply moved; even non-Christian manufacturers pray together with the chaplain. Furthermore, we have received over 600 “gifts from heaven” for Saniku Gakuin and Tokyo Adventist Hospital. Branch managers have been showing videos of Amanuma Church at their branches; the second-in-command of a top manufacturer received a book by Dr. Toshio Yamagata and said, “I’ll use this to speak to my subordinates”; some staff members have started keeping the gratitude journals I mentioned last time; and some have even begun prayer walks. There are also those who have volunteered to distribute flyers for Amanuma Church’s lectures at their branches. Some have written “I read it” on their New Year’s cards; others have reported that their subordinates—including directors—have read them. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic—or rather, precisely because of that time—everyone was delighted to receive the Gospel literature. I’ve been keeping a list to avoid duplicating gifts, but there are hundreds of people. I simply can’t keep up with writing them all down. Just as it says in the Book of Testimony, evangelism has become the best form of recreation. “The Word of God spoken through Jesus Christ brings into existence things that did not exist in the world before it was spoken.”
Even now, with the chaos in Ukraine, Gaza, and Iran, and the turmoil in the climate and the world,
“As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately and said, ‘Please tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?’ Then Jesus answered and said, ‘See to it that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, “I am the Christ,” and will deceive many.’” I am even more surprised than you are that these very words from the Bible are coming true. We held a prayer meeting on United Player for the Middle East and America, and we also streamed it on YouTube. Amazingly, our YouTube subscriber count has more than tripled.
15. “The Lord’s power is the ability to create anything out of nothing. Therefore, the Lord can perform miracles through those who are powerless. Thus, anything that reminds us of Christ’s creative power is sure to stir up our spiritual strength and courage. And this is the purpose of the Sabbath” (EJW CRR p. 35).
This afternoon, there will be a dental consultation and a testimony meeting that will remind us of the power of creation. Please be sure to join us.
16. Jesus promised, “Ask, and it will be given to you,” but He also said, “Seek, and you will find.” If you feel you have nothing, please ask. Please seek. Elijah prayed seven times. What was given to him then was not a great cloud, but a small one. Yet Elijah found rain overflowing from that small cloud. Let us seek not a large piece of candy, but a small cloud. God bestows blessings and watches to see how people use them. Even a testimony as small as a little cloud is a testimony from God. The miracle of being woken up at the best time to read the Bible tomorrow morning happens every morning. However, even if you pray this way and aren’t woken up at 4:30 a.m., please don’t be disappointed. When I was tired, God woke me up before 6:00 a.m. God always does what is best. However, because this miracle happened every day, in answer to my prayer, “Please lead me to a true church,” the miracle of the Mountain View meeting and United Players that I mentioned earlier took place.
The SDA Yaizu Church is a very good church. As shown in the first video I shared—the one featuring mainstream media—when Pastor Ron Clouse and the General Conference prayed for their great vision, “We want to use mainstream media for evangelism in Japan,”
they began searching, believing that with the world praying, nothing could possibly fail to happen, and this is the result. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine—when darkness covered the earth and gloom enveloped the nations, and the world was shrouded in darkness—it continued to shine.
Revival begins with you. Revival does not happen and then you join in. If revival does not occur within you, you will never realize it even if revival happens all around you.
17. When and where will that be? This afternoon? Right here, right now?
How can we know that our prayers will be answered? The answer is written here:
“This official wanted to see the fulfillment of his prayer with his own eyes before he believed. But he had to believe Jesus’ words that his request had been heard and that a blessing had been granted. We, too, must learn this lesson. We do not believe because we see or feel that God hears our requests. We trust in God’s promises. When we approach God with faith, all our requests are received into His will. If we seek God’s blessing, we should believe that we will receive it and give thanks for having received it. Then, confident that the blessing will be realized at the most necessary time, we fulfill our duties. When we learn to do this, we know that our prayers will be answered. God will do for us “according to the riches of His glory,” “by His mighty power,” and “far more abundantly” (Ephesians 3:16, 1:19, 3:20).” The Hope of the Ages, Chapter 20 “Unless you see signs and wonders”
18. Prayer becomes a time of thanksgiving. I will show you the 2025 edition of the diary I shared last time. In my diary, I mark in gold when extraordinary things happen—such as when a regular train runs during a typhoon, when a typhoon dissipates, when my symptoms improve after being told I needed dialysis, when I receive a gift from heaven, or when I am called somewhere to share my testimony. Today is one of those days. I also mark entries in gold when extraordinary things happen—such as when ordinary people hear my testimony and accept a Bible... The red entries are for times when problems arose, such as my own failures, my own illnesses, or those of my family. There were many such entries, but I’ve lost track of where they are now. For this year’s diary, I’ve used green instead of red. Since God has turned everything to my good, I’ve stopped using red.
At the end of last year, my father’s condition worsened to the point where he finally had to undergo dialysis, but he refused it, and at the New Year’s party, we said our farewells. When he went to the university hospital in February, he spoke words of resignation, but I told him, “I’m praying for you.” I didn’t pray for healing; instead, I prayed, “May the name of Jesus be glorified.” As a result, we no longer need to consider dialysis. Also in February, my wife’s father was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. He was saved safely. Since I prayed that His name might be glorified, even though he was healed by Jesus, I must bear witness here so that I do not become like the nine who did not return to give glory to God openly and without hesitation. I praise Jesus.
However, even amidst the gloomiest news of that February, there were wonderful works of God, such as the fact that nine out of ten people in Japan responded as mentioned earlier. Even last year, when I caught a terrible cold and thought I might stop breathing in the middle of the night and die, there were wonderful advances in God’s ministry and miracles. Amid the war in Ukraine, the massacre in Gaza, the COVID-19 pandemic, and various natural and man-made disasters, the Gospel spread with tremendous momentum throughout the nations and towns caught in the midst of these crises. Whether times are good or bad, just as no one can stop the rotation of this massive Earth floating in the vast emptiness of space, God’s wonderful work continues to move forward.
19. This is a photo taken when the typhoon mentioned earlier dissipated. During the pandemic, our staff risked their lives to care for patients. Yet not a single staff member lost their life. We are truly grateful to God. However, in Jesus’ time, there was no miracle of God’s protection. Because He bore all our sins, He received the full punishment for all those sins, was crucified, and died.
“Yet even for God, the King of the universe, it was an agonizing struggle to give up His Son to death for the sake of sinful humanity. Nevertheless, ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life’ (John 3:16). Oh, how mysterious is the atonement! How deeply God must have loved a world that did not love Him.” The Dawn of Humanity, Chapter 5: The Plan for the Salvation of Humanity
Soon, Jesus, the Son of God who loves you more than anyone else in the universe, will return. How will you welcome Him? When God sent His only Son, Jesus, to Bethlehem on this earth, humanity—filled with unbelief, fear, contempt, anger, and hatred—sought to kill Him from the very beginning. The same pattern has repeated itself throughout the ages since then.
Why not, at least this once, welcome Him with joy, prayer, and gratitude?
That begins right here, right now, with you.
